Featured here is a behind-the-scenes look at how Thermacork is produced. Cork is shredded, pressed to the same density as oak, and then steam heated. This heating expands the cork and allows the naturally occurring waxy substance, suberin, to bind the material together. Thus, no added synthetic resins or binders are necessary, making it a 100% natural material that outcompetes any other insulator from a sustainability standpoint.
